About us
Te Hiku Pae Tawhiti is a Māori-led work readiness programme designed to help whānau in the Far North overcome barriers to employment and education.
Led by Te Hiku Hauora and commissioned by the Ministry of Social Development, this programme provides holistic, culturally grounded support for Māori job seekers and those with health conditions or disabilities.
What to Expect
Participants who enter employment or study within eight weeks of completion will receive an additional 182 days of pastoral care and support.
This programme is designed to create real, lasting opportunities for whānau.

Who Can Join?
Te Hiku Pae Tawhiti welcomes WINZ-registered clients from Kaitaia Service Centre.
Our focus is on supporting Māori job seekers and individuals with health conditions or disabilities re-entering the workforce. Referrals are accepted from Work and Income, community organisations, agencies, or self-referral.
