Keringawai brings vast experience in leadership and governance, having dedicated a career in education, Māori development and small business management. She has served on a range of governance boards for St Stephens and Queen Victoria Trust Board, Te Hīnota Whānui, Parengarenga Ahipara Peria Pariha, Tai Tokerau Regional Council Māori Womens Welfare League, Tarai Waka and Haititaimarangai Marae Trust. A passion in Waka Hourua, she worked closely with Sir Hector Busby and others to deepen the local capacity in Kaupapa Waka and Kura Waka. As an ex Queen Victoria student, Keringawai has maintained connections to the kura and sustained her Trusteeship contributing to the reopening of St Stephens in 2025 and Queen Victoria in the near future. She is the Pouarahi at Te Wānanga o Te Rangi Aniwaniwa, involved in many kaupapa in Muriwhenua and is committed to growth and development of her whānau, hapu, iwi.
